Leather NCO Tassel

JB-1014

£350

Original brown leather sword knot from a WW2 Japanese NCO sword — intact, with one break in the cord. The leather usually rots beyond repair.

The brown leather sword knot was the standard fitting issued with Imperial Japanese Army NCO swords through WW2 — the small detail that completes a Type 95 or NCO Shin Guntō assembly. Surviving examples in this condition are uncommon: the leather typically rots, dries, or cracks through to the point of being unusable, and most NCO swords now come up for sale without the original knot.

This example is intact, with a single break in the cord. The right fit for a collector who already owns an NCO sword in sound condition and wants to complete the original-fittings story, or for anyone reassembling a representative WW2 IJA assembly piece.
