Type 95 NCO sword in good condition, retaining its original sword knot — the standard sidearm for Imperial Japanese Army non-commissioned officers, 1935–1945.
The Type 95 was entirely mass-produced with a cast zinc-alloy handle and a machine-made blade — notably, it was never intended to carry a traditionally forged sword. Surviving examples in good condition are the exception; most saw hard field use. This piece retained its original brown leather sword knot, which typically failed to survive postwar handling. The Type 95 is the most historically documented of all Imperial military swords and a direct record of wartime industrial production.
