1943 gendaitō signed Yoshiharu with army star stamp — a traditionally-forged RJT blade in mint guntō mounts.
The army star stamp (hoshi-jirushi, 星刻印) identifies a blade as the work of an RJT (Rikugun Jumei Tōshō / 陸軍受命刀工 — “army-commissioned sword smith”), the wartime programme that supervised traditionally-forged blades made for officer issue. Star-stamped gendaitō are considered legitimate nihonto rather than mass-produced military pieces: they were forged from tamahagane, water-quenched, and inspected by army metallurgists. A signed and dated 1943 example by Yoshiharu in near-mint mounts captures the programme at its mid-war peak.
